B'COOL PRODUCTS
|
|
(Click the logo above for the BCOOL Products site...opens in a new window)
It's my pleasure and I'm eager to introduce to you the extreme quality of Randy Briley's B'Cool Products fenders and blanks. For those of you not familiar with the high quality products B'COOL offers, you'll be doing yourself and your clients a big favor by looking into the Pro Builders and Skin-Tite series of fenders and blanks.
Seeing how I'm not a lightweight by any means, the fender blank below was fresh off the brown truck and I just had to demonstrate the heavy, durable construction of these fenders by planting my size 12's on top of it. But that's not where it stops...the quality continues into the finish and beyond. Shape and fit is exact and true. Constructed from up to 10 gauge material, I dare you to compare the B'COOL Products quality to anything available anywhere.
(Click above for some detailed photos of the quality difference)
B'COOL Products provided the high quality fender blanks for our Metric Revolution project bike, RATIKUL, and others in the MoonShine Steel shop. If it's about quality for your build, look into B'COOL. Tell Randy that MoonShine sent ya ! |

FROM STOCKER TO ROCKER
Page: 2/2
RIP IT APART AND BEGIN
THE FRAME WORK:
The heavily-modified stock frame features 6 additional inches in the backbone and 5 extra inches in the single downtube. This particular Yamaha model comes from the factory with 2 downtubes and I opted to change that to a larger 1 ??diameter, cleaner single tube. The seat area was a major concern as well on this model. Due to the fact that the stock frame is not exactly symmetrical in the seat area, close attention had to be paid to achieve the desired look. Enter my ol' buddy Unkl Al. I wanted the seat to sit on top of the frame rails and not overlap them which, in my opinion, made the look and also added to my choice to leave the underseat area open vs. utilizing side covers. This also afforded me an opportunity to show off the one-of-a-kind chrome custom ?flat-top?oil tank top cover on my bike. A battery box was welded into position on the underside of the steel seatpan (to house an Odyssey PC545 gel cell battery which lies in a semi-horizontal position. A pair of Baron's Custom Accessories steel braided oil lines complete the oil tank cover conversion. A stock swingarm was utilized but only for it?s original swivel points. The rest of the swingarm had to be widened to accommodate the 8.5? wheel and 240 Metzeler tire. Anticipating the increased output of the supercharged V-twin power plant, my choice was to stay with my plans to use a full width 1 ?? drive belt. Other frame modifications include raking the stock neck angle (32 degrees) to 38 degrees and with the addition of aftermarket triple trees, an additional 6 degrees tallied the final angle at 44 degrees. (Click here for some beautiful raked triple trees for your Road Star (or Royal Star, for that matter). These kits come complete and you will have all the technical assistance you'll ever require to do the job like a pro WITHOUT a trip to the hardware store. The Baron's team just recently released this new product and when I was building this bike, his trees were not yet available. Believe me, any future Road Stars done here in the MoonShine Steel shop will have a set of these beauties installed on them. I have plans for a full custom bagger "Tour Deluxe" that's in my stable right now and if I can determine the fitment for this application, I'll opt for a set of them on that project as well. Mouse over the page links to see some various views of these awesome additions to your stock "Roadie". My buddy, David Tise (BullDog), owns the pictured Road Star in those pics and he is a great asset to not only the Baron's tech forums online, but also to many of us in the custom metric world. I'm positive you'll be hearing more about David soon.)
(Hang in there...I'm working on the rest...)
